Warkworth Floral Art Club ,
Auckland Area, New Zealand meets on a Friday once a month. You can
join them at the Catholic Church Hall, Warkworth from 9.30am
on the third Friday of the month. In July 2002 Tricia photographed the
work of this small band of wonderful floral designers to inspire you whether you are a beginner
or a seasoned flower arranger.Since that time Tricia and the team at floral design magazine, have travelled the world, photographing and interviewing the best florists and floral designers. Each month you can experience what we do, when you subscribe to floral design magainze. More details here.
The overall concept for
all classes was using a Grid.
All the flowers used were
fresh.
The experienced designers
below set the standard!
Barbara Starrenburg used
magnolia flowers, succulents, astelia, conifer, and peppermint geranium
leaves is this steel grey and red/violet grid. |
Her grid was tied with matching
wire and spray painted with blue stippled paint.
|
.
Betty Trewin used leucodrendron,
rolled flax and lacinalia to compliment her triangular grid. |
|
 |
Lyn Membery used dried Abasinian
banana leaves, magnolia leaves, nandina domestica, orange gerberas and vine
on a bamboo grid. |
|
Sylvia Walsh used thyme,
rosemary, conifer, succulent flowers and westringia in this sweet smelling
grid. What a great idea for the kitchen table!. |
 |
Lots of space in these airy
designs by two designers whose names we didn't catch! |
And then the less experienced members proved
they were also worth watching!
Margaret Radford used her
grid as a base |
Judith Neill laid her flowers
on top of the grid as an interesting piece to look into. |
