Max van de Sluis shared the latest in Dutch and European floral design
at this demonstration at the Northern Flower Growers Association of New

are just some of the latest trends he used in his designs. To catch up with what the leading European designers are doing now, click here

Large leaves of aspidistra were wired up the middle and then stacked and glued to make the arc resting
on the construction underneath.Arum/Calla lilies took up the line
of the leaves and the tubes keeping them turgid were hidden with glued
flannel plant and lambs ear leaves. |
.
Green goddess Arum lilies
rose from the swirls made from leaves which were tightly packed and glued
into the shallow dish. |
 |
Hard to photograph but this
was a mat of woven Tenex phornium attached to a glass, holed dish,
with an opening on one side. |
Flowers were poked through
the mat into the water in the dish. Cut up foliage also floated in the
dish. |
 |
A classic parallel design
in a box, Max used a variety of plant material including sunflowers with
petals removed. |
 |
A glass dish with floral
foam curved in it, was covered with multiple layers of cut up foliage.
Each layer was spray glued and then the foliage added, creating a
mat effect. Quick, easy and effective! |
