.
A bunch of Jonquils, a bunch
of ranunculas, 3 stems of magnolia leaves, 5 gerberas, 2 kale
heads, 3 palm fronds and the dried seedhead of the New Zealand Flax
make up this bouquet. |
Condition all your plant material,
by soaking them in water first if necessary. Wire the gerberas up
the stems to keep the flower heads upright.Prepare the material so they
are grouped and tidy, within easy reach as you make this bouquet.Take
off the bottom leaves of the magnolia stems and so the top leaves
only are left. |
.
Hold
the 3 magnolia stems firmly together in your left hand |
Using the right hand to
add, join the first head of kale as the focal point into the bunch
in the left hand. |
Add the second head of kale
for repetition, holding all the time, the stems firmly in the left
hand. |
Add the first gerbera to
start building the line and all the time imaging the flowers as they will
be in the customers vase. |
Go with the flowers, placing
the gerberas where they naturally want to go, all have to look
to the front |
Add the flax flower at the
back to give the bouquet strength and added texture and contrast,
and the bunch of ranunculas all together at the front for strength.. |
Add the jonquils in
another bunch at the side and you will be starting to create a nice, forward
facing arrangement. |
Give it some grace with
the 3 palm fronds, one at the back and one on each side. |
Tie the bunch off with floral
ribbon tightly wound around the stems just below the first flowers |
Cut the stems evenly on
an angle so they will absorb more water |
Wrap the stems in tissue
and soak in water for a few moments , then insert all into a plastic
bag and tie off with ribbon. |
Lay the bouquet onto two
contrasting pieces of course paper. |
Fold the end over the stams
and roll wrap the bouquet. Vicky prefers the coarse paper as it protects
the flowers while they are being transported. |
Tie the wrapping paper in
place with curling ribbon and it is done! |
Vicky allowed us to look
through her portfolio of weddings she has co-ordinated recently and these
we share with you. Enjoy!
